Rubber Crumb Surfacing
Safe. Flexible. Child-Friendly.
Perfect for playgrounds, schools, gyms, and walkways, our rubber crumb surfacing provides a soft, shock-absorbing finish that prioritises safety without compromising style.
Made from recycled rubber and high-quality binders, these surfaces are ideal for areas where slip-resistance and cushioning matter most. Available in a wide range of colours and patterns, rubber crumb is a smart, sustainable choice for any high-traffic or family-focused space.
S.U.D.S. stands for Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems—an environmentally friendly approach to managing rainwater and surface runoff in urban areas.
When we say our resin bound driveways and paths are S.U.D.S. compliant, it means they are:
✅ Fully permeable – water can drain through the surface and into the ground below
✅ Helps prevent flooding – reduces surface water runoff and pressure on public drains
✅ No need for planning permission – in many cases, installing a S.U.D.S. compliant surface like resin bound gravel does not require planning approval (unlike traditional paving)
✅ Eco-friendly – supports sustainable development and reduces pollution risks
At Resina Surfacing, we are committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and long-lasting resin surfaces. That’s why we do not use quartz in any of our resin bound or resin wall mixes.
Why We Avoid Quartz:
🔸 Health & Safety
Quartz contains high levels of crystalline silica, which can release harmful dust particles during cutting or mixing. Prolonged exposure to silica dust can lead to serious respiratory conditions, including silicosis. By avoiding quartz, we protect both our team and your environment.
🔸 Better Resin Bonding
Quartz particles have a smoother surface compared to natural decorative aggregates. This can reduce the strength of the bond between the resin and the stone, which over time may lead to weak points or surface breakdown. We use carefully selected, resin-compatible aggregates that offer stronger adhesion and more reliable performance.
🔸 Superior Appearance & Durability
Our selected stones and blends provide richer, more natural colours and a more durable, UV-stable finish—without the dull, powdery appearance quartz can sometimes cause when exposed to the elements.
At Resina Surfacing, we install our resin systems properly from the ground up. That means we do not lay resin bound surfaces directly onto concrete or paving blocks—and here’s why:
🚫 Concrete Is Not Suitable
- Concrete is non-porous, which traps moisture beneath the resin surface.
- This can lead to blistering, cracks, or resin lifting over time.
- Poor bonding results in a reduced lifespan of the surface.
🚫 Block Paving Moves & Shifts
- Block paving is unstable and flexible, making it a poor base for resin.
- Joints can reflect through to the resin surface, causing visible lines or cracking.
- Allows water ingress, leading to freeze-thaw damage and erosion underneath.
✅ The Right Way: Permeable & Stable Bases
We install resin on top of correct, S.U.D.S.-compliant bases such as:
- Open-grade tarmac (asphalt) – strong, permeable, and stable
- MOT Type 3 aggregate base – allows drainage and supports the resin properly
- 5% Off: Blue Light Card Holders
- 10% Off: Disability Badge Holders
